The Espai Marfà is a centre for musical creation founded in 2011 after the renovation of the old Marfà textile factory. It is a project by Girona City Council in collaboration with various agencies (Fundació Cases de la Música, EUMES) with whom it has formed one of the most important musical clusters in Catalonia. 

The Marfà has various work spaces (rehearsal rooms, recording studio, multimedia classrooms, conference room) and carries out a wide range of projects aimed all stakeholders within the music sector: creation (residencies, accompaniment of artists, co-production of new projects) training (technical, musical and management) and outreach (workshops, conferences, concerts).

• Training and outreach activities: around 1,000 users per year

• Advanced Music and Sound School: 165 students per year

• 8 rehearsal spaces with around 4,000 hours of use per year

• Artist accompaniment programme for groups in the Girona region 

• Summer Music School. Educational Resources for Teachers course

• Campus Rock: summer centre for young musicians 

• Coordination of the Street Music programme
